    PRESS RELEASE

THE PDP IS ONE AND UNITED BEHIND PRESIDENT JONATHAN

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly dismissed media reports wherein the National Security Adviser, Gen. Oweye Azazi blamed the Party for the current security challenges in the country. The PDP described the statement as a very poor reflection of the foundation and the internal workings of the Party as well as a wrong deduction on the roots of security challenges in the country.

In a statement in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Chief Olisa Metuh said that contrary to assertions by the National Security Adviser, the PDP has remained the strongest catalyst for the unity and progress of Nigeria. Arguing that equity, fairness and all inclusiveness have been the cardinal operative principles of the PDP since formation, Chief Metuh said the spread of all the offices in the Party as well as in the federal government which it has been controlling are firm demonstration that the PDP is a sure vehicle for every Nigerian to seek and realise political ambition notwithstanding the hindrances of tribe and religion.

No word can describe the invaluable contributions of Alhaji Tukur to the development of democracy in Sokoto State and the propagation of the values and principles of the Peoples Democratic Party, especially the visionary and just leadership he gave during the last party’s congress and gubernatorial election.

  • Achievements of PDP

    April 22, 2012.

“NIGERIA UNDER PDP IS ON COURSE”

The Peoples Democratic Party has observed a consistent trend amongst opposition parties and their leaders where there seems to be a deliberate campaign to get noticed by churning out lies and half truths about the PDP and the governments elected on its platform.

Listening to these critics, one would be misled to imagine that the PDP Government has achieved nothing since it assumed the reigns of power in 1999. We are however gladdened that the Nigerian people, who are the ultimate beneficiaries of the good governance we have given have reciprocated over good gesture by overwhelmingly electing our candidates at every general election.

News Flash

March 5, 2013

 Press Statement

The attention of the South East Zone of the People's Democratic Party has been drawn to spurious publications in a section of the media alleging unfounded claims of bias against the Hon Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah in the recruitment exercise carried out by some parastatals in her ministry.

The leadership of our great Party in the southeast makes bold to state categorically that this baseless allegation is yet another futile attempt by opposition elements to smear the image of the Minister and denigrate her well earned reputation as a distinguished Nigerian and a worthy assets of our great Party, the PDP.

Princess Oduah, though a proud daughter of the Southeast zone, has proven herself to be a detribalized Nigerian both in her private business and in the discharge of her duties as Minister. The current massive upgrading of airports in all the geopolitical zones in the country bear testimony to this.

We are proud to observe that Princess Oduah's performance in office is a major plank of President Jonathan's transformation agenda.

These sponsored provocative publications are designed by opposition elements who are envious of her sterling performance and who feel threatened by her rising profile as a dedicated minister and exemplary member of our great Party.

For the records, Princess Oduah is not involved directly or indirectly in staff recruitment of any parastatal under her. There is a well established bureaucracy to handle such matters while she concerns herself with the huge task of driving the well applauded reforms in the aviation sector.
