“We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.”
― Winston Churchill
Veterans Day is a day to remember the services of our men and women in the armed forces. It is a day set aside for us to remember the constant sacrifices our soldiers face, or have faced, on a daily basis. Our soldiers provide us with the safety and security that we have grown accustomed to in our great nation of America. Without our men and women in uniform, we, as a nation, would be experiencing tragedies like the Twin Tower catastrophe on a more frequent basis. The US House Representative from Hawaii, Ms. Tulsi Gabbard has always led voice in regard to the America’s interventionist wars which is costing trillions of dollars and thousands of lives altogether. Regarding appreciating the intolerable pain the soldiers take up, Tulsi Gabbard never fails to commend on the true efforts of our soldiers. They pre-emptively avoid wars & attacks by stopping the culprits before they can begin to enact upon their plans. Our enemies are great in numbers but our guardians are even stronger and more vigilant than our enemies could ever hope to be.

These brave people have signed their lives away to the government and became our guardians for our safety and security, without ever asking for our thanks or retribution. Tulsi Gabbard’s speeches always apprise the true heart for soldiers.. once ordinary people, regular civilians like the rest of us, but they decided to go beyond their daily lives to protect their country with the dearest thing to anyone- their own lives. They write up a blank check to the government, signing away years of their lives, all the while knowing the possibility that they might not come home and could lose their life or limbs in their service to nation.
They are prepared to give up everything for their country and the people that live in it because they care more than anyone else does. Tulsi Gabbard always demonstrates this in her every speech. How they go through months of grueling training that the normal person could not complete victoriously. After weeks of being treated like scum in boot camp, they are not finished there. They are then deployed in combat zones, on either ships or carriers, or oversea duty stations where they serve out their enlistment period with about as much freedom as prisoners. They do this willingly for their nation and us; they are the most selfless people in the world.
While it is welcomed to thank a Veteran for their service, many do not wish to talk about what they have done while deployed or in active service. Tulsi Gabbard gave respect to their wishes.
